What is a PAC?

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the "officially recognized collective voice of parents of their school". PAC members are elected officers who "may advise the school board, the principal, and staff of the school respecting any matter relating to the education of the students and the school".

The responsibilities of the PAC include (but are not limited to):

  • providing opportunities to educate and inform parents about the school

  • involving parents in volunteer activities

  • openly discussing parents’ concerns and aspirations for their schools

The Brighouse PAC has a long tradition of holding many events and fundraisers throughout the year, including our famous Pizza Days, multicultural potlucks, holiday celebration days, guest speakers for parents, gardening programs, and more.  Just recently, we helped fund a new Sensory Outdoor path, a new iPad cart for the school, and board games tailored to each class for playtime use.

Please take a look at the volunteer opportunities page, as many of these roles do not involve joining the PAC as an executive member. You can also check out the upcoming events page or donation page to keep up with what is happening.

Your executives for this year are

Chair: Rachael White

Treasurer: Sheena Borges

Secretary: Nathalie Matias

Food Day Co-ordinators: Juliana Vucic + Lisa Marten

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about anything PAC-related.
